Anaesthesia

We use a wide range of anaesthetic agents such as propofol, isoflurane and sevoflurane according to the requirements of the individual.

All anaesthetised patients have the oxygen level in their blood monitored (pulse oximetry) and the gases that they breath in and out analysed (capnograph/gas analyser) as well as the all important nurse monitoring the anaesthesia continually. Some patients will have blood and urine tests prior to their operation to ensure they are fit for the anaesthetic.
