Our practice meets and exceeds the strict standards required for the RCVS Small Animal Hospital accreditation. All our patients on fluids are infused using Baxter infusion pumps. We keep detailed patient hospitalisation and anaesthetic records. We have the same nurse on wards for several days at a time to ensure familiarity with patients. Our head nurse works “at the coal face” leading by example. Responsibilities include oversight of patient care, nurse clinics, practice cleanliness, liasing with vets and practice manager, implementation of the rota, monitoring adherence to practice protocols and regular nurse meetings. Our nursing team work a rota system and have one day off each week. They work 1 in 7 weekends and 1 in 10 Saturdays. The starting salary for the head nurse position will be from £25,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
