Our vets

Ian Hart MA VetMB MRCVS

Ian graduated from Cambridge in 1988 and co-founded the Hart Veterinary Centre in Bicester with his wife, Clare, in 1993. His main interests are in surgery and oncology. Ian specialises in orthopaedic, spinal and soft tissue surgery and receives referrals from several local practices. Outside work Ian spends as much time cycling, running and walking his dogs as family life allows.


Clare Hart MA VetMB MRCVS

Clare graduated from Cambridge in 1988 and co-founded the practice with Ian in 1993. Clare works two days a week, as well as looking after her three children, two Labradors and several cats. Clare's main areas of interest include preventative medicine, surgery and acupuncture. Clare enjoys triathlon and skiing.

Tim Chapman MA VetMB MRCVS

Tim graduated from Cambridge in 1999, and after working in small animal practice in Surrey joined Harts in 2002. He became a director  in 2007, co-founding our Waddesdon veterinary surgery in 2010. Tim's main areas of interest include internal medicine, cardiology, ultrasonography and clinical governance. In his spare time Tim enjoys digital photography, walking and spending time with his two sons.

Gemma Prophet BVet Med CertGP MRCVS

After qualifying in 2005 from London, Gemma joined Harts in 2006. Gemma enjoys being a General Practitioner and in 2008 she completed a further qualification in advanced General Practice. As many of Gemma’s regular clients know, she enjoys freeride skiing and running with her dog Flick, and to relax she says a little bit of yoga normally does the trick.

Gina Girvan BVM&S MRCVS

Originally from Cumbria, Gina graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 2005. She worked as a large animal vet in Yorkshire for 3 years before deciding to specialise in small animal practice. Gina moved to Oxfordshire and joined the Hart Veterinary Centre in February 2011. Outside work Gina plays hockey for Bicester Hockey Club and enjoys walking and mountain biking with her dog Jake.


Steffi Warrillow MA VetMB MRCVS

Steffi graduated from Cambridge in June 2010 and joined the Hart Veterinary Centre the following November after several months travelling. She has settled down well in Oxfordshire where she lives with two friends, her dog Tessa and three tortoises. Outside work, Steffi enjoys travelling abroad, running, cycling, and visiting friends around the country.

Helen Wallace BVMS MRCVS

Helen graduated from Glasgow in 2001 and spent two years working in mixed practice in Wales before moving to a small animal practice in Yorkshire. She joined Hart Vets in December 2011. Helen’s main interest is in internal medicine, especially endocrine disorders and cardiology. Outside work, Helen has two cats and enjoys fencing and archery.


Anna Watson BVMS MRCVS

Anna  graduated from Glasgow in 2006. She worked in mixed practice near St. Albans before moving to Hart Vets in August 2010. Anna is currently on maternity leave following the birth of her daughter Isabella. Congratulations Anna and Oliver!



About us

Claire Seely BSc BVMS MRCVS

Claire graduated from Glasgow in 1997 and joined Hart Vets in 2009. Claire works most Saturday mornings at our Waddesdon surgery. Outside of vet work, Claire enjoys spending time with her cats, travelling, archery, folk music, supporting the Northampton Saints Rugby team and running her own stained glass window business!
