The Hart Veterinary Centre is proud to be an accredited small animal veterinary hospital under the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon’s Practice Standards Scheme. The scheme was set up by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care. Our Bicester veterinary surgery was awarded the highest level under the scheme in August 2009 - small animal hospital. There are only approximately 150 veterinary practices out of over 4000 practices in the country that have achieved this standard.

In order to achieve accreditation as a small animal hospital we had to undergo rigorous inspection by the RCVS. We had to demonstrate that we:

• Provide the highest standard of veterinary care
• Provide nursing care for our in-patients during the night
• Maintain and improve our clinical standards through an ongoing process of monitoring and review
• Have a range of specialist diagnostic equipment including ultrasound, digital x-ray, digital endoscopy, ECG and an in-house laboratory
• Have a comprehensive range of soft-tissue and orthopaedic surgical equipment
• Meet rigorous standards of hygiene
• Comply with health and safety and legal requirements
